ABOUT

The Full Story

How did I get to be the Transplant Traveler? Well, I somehow was the unlucky winner of an autoimmune disease called "Goodpasture Syndrome" which damaged my kidneys beyond repair. After being on peritoneal dialysis for what seemed like eternity, nearly four years, I was the lucky recipient of a kidney from amazing donor. That kidney renewed not only my failing health but also my sense of adventure.

Now it is my goal to put as much mileage on this kidney as I possibly can! I'm trying to experience as much of the world as my meager teacher's salary will allow, whenever and wherever I can (mainly on school breaks, gotta pay those bills).

I hope that with my travels I can inspire others to get out of their comfort zones and see the incredible people and places the world possesses. I also hope to expose the children in my classroom to life beyond their neighborhood  and spark their sense of adventure.
